AllBright closes £1.85m series A funding round

The collective for working women founded by Debbie Wosskow OBE and Anna Jones will use the funding to scale-up the organisation.

AllBright - the collective for working women launched in November 2016 to provide tailored training, space and funding for female founders and executives - has just closed its series A round.

The company’s series A round has been led by a Cain International consortium including leading property developer Galliard Homes, alongside individuals including Robert Swannell (M&S), Mervyn Davies (Corsair), Paul White (Frogmore), Ben Samuels (WeWork) and Jan Hall (Heidrick & Struggles/JCA).

The brainchild of Jones and Wosskow, AllBright’s mission is to become known as the premier destination for female business leaders and executives keen to take their companies and careers to the next level.

Having backed six female-led businesses since launch (including Chiaro, the smart consumer devices company, and Piccolo, an organic baby food brand), the company has recently launched the AllBright Academy, a digital and in-person educational platform for women wishing to start or scale their own business.

In June and July of this year, AllBright created the inaugural 'FoundHER’ Festival of Female Founders, bringing together a line-up of over 80 outstanding speakers and 1,000 attendees. Over the course of six days in London and Manchester, world-class female entrepreneurs and executives including Cath Kidston, Liz Earle, Martha Lane Fox and Sarah Wood took to multiple stages.

Such has been the success of AllBright'scalendar of events that AllBright is now set to launch physical spaces in London and Manchester to further consolidate this community of like-minded women and give them a place to thrive.

Wosskow said: "We are delighted to be working with Cain International, Galliard and our group of angel investors. In the 10 months since AllBright launched, we have begun to build a network for working women that we hope can make the UK a great place for female founders and executives. We're excited for the next stage of scaling up our platform, events and funding over the coming months.”

To further strengthen the executive team, AllBright has also appointed Erica Allen as COO. Allen will work closely with Debbie and Anna on overall strategy and execution. Her deep experience with expanding the UK business for HomeAway during its journey from start up through exit and acquisition by Expedia, and her tenure at Farfetch as the director of international and MD of China, mean she is well placed to launch and grow AllBright's businesses.

Jones added: “With AllBright, we have developed a brand and a mission that people really care about. It has galvanised many who want to see positive change for women in business and we are very excited to have consolidated our senior team with the appointment of Erica and about what we can build for our community as we continue to develop the company.”
