The punk beer brand is stepping up its UK expansion with the launch of its first UK BrewPub – a bar with on-site microbrewery.
The BrewPub will be situated on the ground floor of the neo-Gothic Minster Building at the corner of Great Tower Street and Mark Lane.
The 8,500 sq ft location will be the biggest BrewDog bar in the world, second only to the taproom at its Columbus, Ohio brewery.
The BrewPub will feature a 10HL brewkit, producing small-batch exclusive beers for visitors.
Aside from the 10HL brewing facility, the BrewPub will have a full kitchen with a range of pairing-friendly food, a fully stocked integrated BottleDog for chilled craft beer to drink on site or takeaway, a BrewDog merch zone and an area with arcade games to while away the hours.
BrewDog owns and operates two eco-friendly breweries, one in Ellon in Scotland, and one in the United States in Columbus, Ohio. It already trades from six sites in London, 30 in the UK and 50 worldwide, and is targeting further sites as it continues its global expansion.
Bar acquisitions manager Andrew Statham said: “Our mission and ethos is to make the world as passionate about great craft beer as we are, so we are delighted to be launching our first ever BrewPub in the UK, and our first venue in the City of London.”
Last week, BrewDog launched its fifth round of its record breaking equity crowdfunding scheme Equity for Punks.
Looking to raise £10m, with a stretch goal of £50m, the craft brewery will use the investment to further its global expansion.
This includes the construction of new breweries in Australia and Asia, the opening of 15 craft beer bars in the UK, increasing the capacity in its UK brewery, and the creation of a dedicated craft beer TV network.
