Buckinghamshire Business First is celebrating five years of growth after welcoming its 10,000th member.
Buckinghamshire Business First, the Growth Hub for Buckinghamshire, has been celebrating its key achievements over the last 12 months, including the milestone of welcoming over 10,000 business members and the continued impressive growth that has built up over the five years since its inception.
With further growth in mind, Buckinghamshire Business First unveiled ambitious plans for the future at its AGM on 23 November. Held at its Business Hub in Saunderton, guests heard from members who have taken advantage of the available support and achieved impressive growth, including growth champions Angela Spang of JUNE MEDICAL and James Hakesley of Cube Video.
Chair of Buckinghamshire Business First, Alex Pratt OBE, gave an inspiring talk on the importance of the business community working together to create the right conditions for growth in the county and how the creation and success of Buckinghamshire Business First is a demonstration of the county’s position as the Entrepreneurial Heart of Britain.
Buckinghamshire Business First was the brain child of 10 local entrepreneurs with a ‘do-it-for-themselves’ mentality who wanted to encourage business growth and a vibrant economy in Buckinghamshire. In growing from 10 to 10,000 members since it came into being, it has worked with nearly one third of all businesses in the county.
Philippa Batting, managing director of Buckinghamshire Business First, said: “We were delighted to see so many business members attend the AGM and we really appreciate the passion and dedication they show towards Buckinghamshire Business First and their support in helping to create a strong and dynamic economy in Buckinghamshire.”
She added: “We look forward to supporting all Buckinghamshire businesses with their growth ambitions, funding requirements and business support enquiries as we continue to nurture our thriving business community across the whole county.”
Buckinghamshire Business First is recognised by the government as the Growth Hub for the county. Buckinghamshire Business First has helped create almost 3,000 jobs through its own business support programmes and has brokered to many others.
It has also distributed grants worth £10.7m to businesses at the coalface, and brought new business into Buckinghamshire by supporting 80-plus companies to relocate to the county.
