The American automotive giant is introducing a new diesel engine to its F-150 truck range which will be built at its Dagenham plant in the UK.
Ford has announced plans to introduce a new 3.0 litre diesel engine to its range of F-150 trucks for the first ever time.
The engines will be built at the automotive giant’s engine plant in Dagenham, providing a major shot in the arm to the UK’s automotive sector.
Ford will be launching its new diesel F-150 truck range in the Spring, with dealers across the US taking pre-orders as of mid-January.
Dave Filipe, vice president global powertrain engineering, said: “For every truck owner who wants strong fuel economy while they tow and haul, we offer a new 3.0-liter Power Stroke® V6 engine that dreams are made of.
“The more you tow and the longer you haul, the more you’ll appreciate its class-leading towing and payload capacity and how efficient it is at the pump.”
