The Department for International Trade is hosting two mobile workshops to give London businesses an insight into exporting.
Local businesses in London looking to boost their exporting capabilities are set to benefit from the arrival of DIT’s mobile Export Hub in Vauxhall and the South Bank on 28 Feb at Doon Street near the National Theatre.
As part of DIT’s Exporting is GREAT campaign, the Export Hub is touring the nation with a series of events to help businesses trade overseas.
The events will provide essential information on the benefits of exporting and the key steps and processes that need to be considered. Businesses can also learn about the ongoing support available from DIT.
In the first three quarters of 2017, London businesses exported over £37bn worth of goods, up over £32bn on the same period in 2016. DIT’s Exporting is GREAT campaign aims to help more businesses explore new markets overseas.
Parveen Thornhill, regional director for London at the Department for International Trade, said: “The Export Hub helps to teach businesses across London about the opportunities offered by exporting to overseas clients. The series of events will encourage, educate and support SMEs as they look to discover new markets.
“There is ever growing demand for UK goods and services globally, and firms in London are already reaping the rewards from trading abroad.
“DIT is here to support firms as they overcome common barriers associated with exporting, such as not knowing where to look for contracts, costs of doing business, finance, language and administration.
“The Roadshow will run alongside other initiatives including meet the buyer events, trade missions and masterclasses on exporting and selling online, for businesses across the region.
“We’re encouraging all firms to take advantage to visit the hub and register for a workshop, and hope that if other London businesses can export successfully, so can you.”
