The fast-growing delivery start-up will now provide its on-demand and same-day delivery service to local retailers in Dubai.
Quiqup, the London-based start-up that offers on-demand logistics services to retailers of all sizes and industries, has expanded into Dubai.
The company offers local businesses the opportunity to generate additional revenue by offering same-hour and same-day deliveries to their customers.
It is also expanding into Manchester, marking its first foray into another British city outside of the capital.
Quiqup gives businesses the opportunity to offer their customers on-demand and same day deliveries via their own websites and apps.
This means they aren’t locked in to high commissions and loss of customer control with big tech aggregators and online marketplaces.
In May 2017, the company announced a £20m Series B funding round, led by JOBI Capital, to support its international expansion, strengthen its operations and build out its products and services.
A major milestone in the company’s history, these expansions point to a huge appetite from businesses, large and small, for on-demand and same-day delivery at the touch of button.
Bassel El Koussa, CEO and co-founder of Quiqup, said: “Launching in Dubai and Manchester is a significant moment for Quiqup and a key part of our mission to bring on-demand, same-day delivery to the mass market.
“We chose these cities for our first expansion outside London because of their strong local retail environments and their huge potential for growth.
“While online retail in Manchester and Dubai may not be as mature as in London, consumers are tech savvy and there’s pent up demand for more convenient and faster delivery options.
“The flexibility behind our tech and our algorithmic capabilities allow us to bring Quiqup’s range of services to new locations quickly and efficiently.
“Our early trials have received an overwhelmingly positive response.
“For us, these expansions are not just about scale they are a means for us to improve the lives of consumers and generate additional revenue for business-owners by narrowing an expectation gap that has been growing for some time.
“We believe the last-mile delivery space offers huge potential for retailers, regardless of size, sector or geography, and we’re excited to be working closely with retailers in both cities to improve the service and experience they provide to their customers.”
Since launching in London in 2014, Quiqup has experienced 170% growth year-on-year and delivered over 1,000,000 orders.
The company now has a headcount of over 150 employees and has on-boarded over 2,000 Quiqees since the company’s inception.
