PayByPhone appoints Scotsman Jonny Combe as UK CEO
PayByPhone, the mobile parking payments company, has announced it has appointed Jonny Combe as chief executive officer for the UK.
The 33-year old Scotsman was brought into the newly created position with an aim to grow the PayByPhone business aggressively in the UK, to build new partnerships, and to collaborate with the team at its parent company, Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS), to create joint strategy with PayByPhone for the future of mobility.

European payments leader SIA appoints new CEO
The Board of Directors of SIA, meeting today under the chairmanship of Giuliano Asperti, has appointed Nicola Cordone to the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Company, after having co-opted him as Director.
Cordone has worked at SIA since 2000 with increasing responsibilities up to his appointment as Deputy CEO and Senior Vice President Global Business Solutions in 2016.
Xero’s Gary Turner joins Enterprise Nation board
Enterprise Nation today announced that Gary Turner, co-founder and managing director at Xero is joining its board as an adviser. The pioneer of cloud accounting software for small businesses will join in December to help the network develop its growth strategy as the leading small business support provider in the UK.
Turner has grown Xero’s cloud accounting business in the UK from a three-person start-up with annual revenues of £50k to to more than £40M in the year to March 2018, and now employs more than 300 people.
Neil Coyle MP Announced as new Chair of Wines and Spirits APPG
Neil Coyle, MP for Bermondsey and Old Southwark, has been announced as the new Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Wines and Spirits.
Neil replaces Tim Loughton MP, who stepped down last month having led the group since 2014, having overseen growth in membership of the APPG to its largest number of members since it began.
Materials specialist joins Mercia investment team
Mercia Technologies PLC, the national investment group which is one of the UK’s most active technology investors, has appointed Bill Yost as Investment Manager.
Bill brings over 20 years of hands-on, international experience of leading successful early stage technology businesses and consulting to a wide range of technology companies. He will be based in Mercia’s headquarters in Henley-in-Arden as part of the Electronics, Materials, Manufacturing/Engineering Investment Team.

During this time, he has worked as a Broker and worked for lenders in both the but-to-let and specialist sectors.
