West Midlands-based Hadley Industries Plc has announced the acquisition of EWS Limited in a transaction which will see it boost market share both in the UK and overseas.
EWS produces more than 25 million metres of cold rollformed sections annually and also has core strengths in other construction market products.
The Wolverhampton-based manufacturer will now form part of Hadley Group’s global chain of manufacturing locations.
Hadley Group is a world leader in advanced cold rolled steel technology, with manufacturing facilities in Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, and more than 700 employees worldwide.
Stewart Towe, CEO of Hadley Group, commented: “I am delighted to confirm the addition of EWS into the Hadley Group. The company greatly complements our wide range of value added construction products. We look forward to supporting EWS as they continue to progress in the markets they serve.”
The Birmingham office of law firm Irwin Mitchell advised Hadley Industries on the deal. Corporate partner, Nick Dawson, along with Matt Smith led a multi-disciplined team which included including commercial, tax, pensions, real estate and employment lawyers.
Commenting on the acquisition, Nick Dawson, corporate partner at Irwin Mitchell in Birmingham, said:
“Hadley Industries is an innovative and hugely successful business which clearly demonstrates the strength and potential that the UK’s manufacturing sector has to offer.
“This latest deal reflects Hadley Industries’ ambition and presents a wonderful opportunity for the business to grow its footprint across Europe and rest of the world.”
