The transition was achieved with both Rico and ex-DHL Same Day customers now experiencing consistent services.
Rico was developed 25 years ago and has since established itself as one of Europe’s largest same day logistics and parts distribution operations operating in 10 European countries.
Following recent investment by the TVS Group, Rico has been able to expedite its growth plans by putting in place the financial structure necessary to achieve this. This acquisition is the first in Rico’s ambitious growth plan and will see the organisations grow to a value of £80m with a fleet of over 1400 couriers and 35 locations across the UK.
This makes Rico a considerable force in the same day courier market while enabling it to continue to focus on its specialist services.
Rico say that this increased fleet means customers will be able to benefit from greater resources, improved responsiveness and reduced waiting times.
Rico has also developed a bespoke, market-leading same-day driver platform with couriers using real-time proof of delivery (POD) capture and consignment tracking. This means ex-DHL Same Day customers will now also benefit from improved visibility and tracking.
Martin Cheeseman, director of sales and marketing at Rico, said: "This is a very exciting time for Rico. This acquisition has launched our ambitious growth plan with considerable momentum and will enable us to generate increased exposure for our brand and the range of services we offer.
"We look forward to the exciting times ahead and making Rico an even greater force to be reckoned with."
