A new service to help businesses manage their apprenticeship and training programmes has been set up in Stoke Prior, near Bromsgrove in Worcestershire, creating up to 80 jobs.
Episteme Managed Solutions, which is part of the Episteme Group, a provider of management services to support government funded training programmes, held its official launch on 17 November.
HSBC provided the business with nearly £750,000 to support the purchase of the business’ headquarters which was opened by Sajid Javid, the secretary of state for communities and local government.
Episteme was founded by Sam Morgan, Matt Corden and Craig Hughes to help businesses manage the complexities of government-funded workforce training programmes.
The company has already secured three corporate clients including many large corporate companies and has created 20 new jobs for the local area which will rise to 80 by their first anniversary.
Sam Morgan, chief commercial financial officer for Episteme, said: “We’re thrilled to be opening our doors and help businesses deliver their apprenticeship and training services.
"With successful careers in the training sector and 45 years of experience between us, we felt now was the right to time to set out on this new venture.
"Following changes to the delivery of government-funded training and increasing demand for work-based learning within the new apprenticeship levy, there is a growing need for support and guidance in how these programmes are delivered and managed by employers.”
Mark Lupton, area director for business banking in Greater Birmingham, added: “HSBC is committed to helping British businesses realise their ambitions and we are thrilled to be able to support Episteme in starting up this new venture.
"Sam, Matt and Craig bring an extensive range of experience in supporting businesses with training service management and we look forward to working with them as they grow their business.”
