Team player Caroline promoted to Head of Audit
Caroline Walpole, from Leicester, has worked at the Regent Road head office of the company since 2012, after graduating from Sheffield University with a degree in Chemical Engineering.
She studied to be a chartered accountant while working at the firm and qualified after three years in 2015. Her promotion means she will be managing a team of five of her colleagues, overseeing and reviewing audit jobs for the company’s many clients.
Clarke Willmott continues to expand Birmingham family team
Leading national law firm Clarke Willmott LLP has appointed Hannah Bridgwood as a new associate to its Birmingham Family Team.
Hannah will complement the team’s established practice offering advice on complex financial remedy cases and private law children matters.
Her appointment marks further growth and expansion of the Family Team, which has doubled in size since 2014.
Story Comms turns the page with national rebrand and growth plans
Birmingham-based public relations agency, Story Comms has inveiled its new brand identity as it celebrates a record twelve-month period and makes plans for growth.
To support its growth ambitions, Story has appointed a new director, Gill Holtom, who arrives at the firm after holding a number of leadership roles across Midlands agencies. Vicky Malone has also joined from WAA Chosen, bolstering the senior leadership in her new role as junior account director.
New tax expertise for HCR clients
Tax barrister Sarah Woodall has joined Harrison Clark Rickerbys to offer clients the benefit of many years of experience and expertise from her career at the top of the Senior Civil Service in HMRC, combined with her mediation and advocacy skills.
Stoford strengthens senior team with director appointment

BDO promotes 14 people and welcomes five new faces to its Nottingham office
Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP has promoted 14 people across its East Midlands business. The promotions span the firm’s tax, audit and advisory practices in the region.
This news follows the appointment of five new trainees who recently joined the Nottingham office. The latest cohort of trainees, which includes both graduates and apprentices, will embark on a programme that gives opportunity to earn a level 7 qualification – the equivalent to a masters’ degree.
LSH grows Midlands planning team
Commercial property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) has today announced three new appointments in Birmingham as part of a strategy to strengthen its national planning and development consultancy offer.
Nick Harrison has moved to LSH to head up the planning team in Birmingham. Also joining the business is associate director Ben Rayner and senior planner Louise Hinsley.
New finance director joins bdht
Bromsgrove District Housing Trust (bdht) has appointed Abi Holland as director of finance, following the promotion of the company’s former director of finance, Mark Robertson, to chief executive earlier this year.
Abi was previously financial controller at one of the largest employers in Worcestershire, Kanes Foods in Evesham, which produces washed and ready-to-eat bags and bowls of salad, fresh vegetables, noodles and sauces, fresh salad dressings and ready-to-cook prepared vegetables.
Stoke-based Blink Creative to expand senior team in Chinese office
Following a period of sustained growth, international creative agency, Blink Creative, is expanding the leadership team in its Chinese office.
Blink Creative’s UK-based management team is currently in Hangzhou recruiting for senior positions, including the agency’s first Chinese sales director.
National property company announces new managing partner
A national property company has announced the appointment of a new managing partner.
Fisher German has announced that current Chief Operating Officer (COO) Andrew Bridge, who holds more than 23 years of experience within the firm, has been appointed to the role.
The decision came following a unanimous vote by partners after Andrew Jackson confirmed he will step down in March 2019 after 19 years in the role.
New sales executive joins Queensbury Park
Lovell Homes has recently added to its professional sales team with the appointment of sales executive Ryan Harris, who is based at the company’s Queensbury Park development in Priorslee, Telford.
After a friend of Ryan’s recommended Lovell as a good employer, Ryan applied for the position at Queensbury Park and was accepted. With 10 years in the housing industry, Ryan has a wealth of experience in sales and plenty of property knowledge, helping potential purchasers through the buying and moving process.
Neil brings years of tax knowledge to growing team of consultants at Newby Castleman
Neil Kinnerley, from Wigston, has 24 years of accountancy experience as a result of working across the UK for several different firms, and has spent the last 15 years living and working in the Leicester area. He will be based in the firm’s Leicester office on Regent Road.
Neil, 43, is being brought in as Newby Castleman’s Personal Tax team expands, as a result of the success of businesses in the area and to prepare for changes to the tax system.
New recruits and roles for growing Midlands architectural practice
A Midlands architectural practice has undergone a significant restructure to support its long-term strategy for growth.
Base Architecture & Design, which has offices in Shrewsbury and Chester, has promoted Shrewsbury based associate Ben Embrey to the new position of practice associate with a brief to oversee projects being carried out at each office.
Chelsea Wilkes has been hired as Base’s practice co-ordinator and will be responsible for administrative support for both teams, reporting to senior associate Bryn Jones, and will be based in Shrewsbury.
Adam Turnell has moved from architect to junior associate and will manage a team of four within the Shrewsbury office while Dan James has joined the Chester team as a technologist.
Lloyds Bank strengthens senior Midlands team
Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking has strengthened its senior team in the Midlands with the appointment of Amanda Dorel to SME regional director.
Based at Lloyds Bank’s flagship office on Colmore Row in Birmingham, Amanda brings more than three decades of banking and commercial finance expertise to her new role. She began her career at the bank in 1987 and previously held the positions of head of real estate nationally and senior regional manager in Bristol.
Shakespeare Martineau’s new CEO revealed
Shakespeare Martineau has appointed Sarah Walker-Smith, currently COO at Browne Jacobson, as CEO.
