Hat-trick for Johnson Fellows as graduates appointed
A hat-trick of new appointments at two of its key offices has today been announced by commercial property consultancy Johnson Fellows.
In Birmingham, Connor Shaw has joined the retail agency team to assist with disposal and acquisition instructions. Connor graduated from Birmingham City University with an MSc in Real Estate Management. Niall Glendon has joined the company’s lease advisory team in Birmingham, having also graduated from Birmingham City University with an MSc in Real Estate Management.
Wakemans names Dean Watson as Managing Director
As national property and construction consultancy Wakemans progresses its strategic expansion plans, Dean Watson is promoted to managing director.
Dean joined Wakemans as a trainee surveyor in 1984, going on to gain a BSc degree and become a qualified quantity surveyor and project manager working on hospital schemes and land remediation as well as the full spectrum of commercial developments.
New litigation expert boosts disputed wills and estates team
Developing Harrison Clark Rickerbys’ contentious probate service in response to client demand, partner Beth King-Smith joins the firm as head of disputed wills, trusts and estates.
Beth will work from the firm’s Worcester and Birmingham offices and has extensive experience of working with those who have been cut out of wills, as well as with beneficiaries, heirs, executors, trustees and charities, as well as the families of those whose wills are being challenged.
Two join Knight Frank Building Consultancy team in Birmingham
Knight Frank has strengthened its Midlands Building Consultancy team with the appointment of Helen Cooper as Associate, and Stephanie Poppitt as Graduate Surveyor in the Birmingham office.
Knight Frank’s Building Consultancy division works with developers, investors, landlords, funds and tenants to provide a wide range of professional building surveying related services associated with the practical aspects of owning, leasing, maintaining, developing and investing in commercial property across a building’s life cycle.
Brose Limited appoints industry expert as new MD
Brose Limited, a leading mechatronics specialist to the automotive sector, has appointed a new Managing Director to build on its significant recent growth.
Steve Wilkins, an industry specialist with more than 30 years’ experience, has taken over at its two Coventry plants in Colliery Lane and Foleshill and will work with the company’s experienced management team to continue to improve quality and maximise operational efficiency, giving the business a strong platform to manage the current uncertainty being seen in the UK automotive industry in the lead-up to Brexit.
Chamber recruits key figure to bridge gap between business and education in Coventry & Warwickshire
Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce has recruited a key figure to take on the role of helping the city and county grow its own pool of talent to meet the needs of the local economy.
Lizzie Mara has joined the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce as an Enterprise Co-ordinator for the region, a role which is supported and part-funded by The Careers and Enterprise Company and enhances the service provided by the CWLEP Growth Hub.
She will help schools and colleges to improve their careers and enterprise activities by brokering education and business links.
Law firm recruits ‘blue chip’ marketing expert to help continue growth
Midlands based law firm has appointed a head of sales and marketing who brings more than 25 years’ blue chip experience in the industry to the role.
Graeme Parrott has taken on the role of sales and marketing director at Wright Hassall, having worked with a range of multinational firms during his career.
Graeme will work to boost the profile of Wright Hassall across the country, highlighting the firm’s ethos, range of expertise and success rates through marketing campaigns and communications.
BGF expands Midlands investment team with appointment of Tom Horton
Tom Horton joins BGF from Lloyds Banking Group, where he held roles including Head of Midlands Business Services and Relationship Director for Lloyds’ Midlands Mid-Cap Team, specialising in debt finance and M&A.
Tom’s appointment follows a record year of investing for the Midlands team, who deployed £86m into 9 new businesses and through follow-on funding for existing companies in its portfolio to support further growth.
