Gravity, the UK’s largest trampoline park operator has raised £3 million from Guinness Asset Management as the company looks to diversify in to new areas of the leisure market with emphasis on active entertainment.
Now in its fourth year of trading, the company has established itself as one of the fastest growing leisure groups in the country. Its successful management and £3m fundraise follows a £5m investment in April 2017, also from Guinness Asset Management.
The company’s core business, its highly successful trampoline park operation, boasts industry-leading standards in health & safety, operational procedures and site fit-out.
Traditional concepts such as adventure golf (Gravity NYC Street Golf) and climbing walls (Gravity Rocks Urban Climbing) have been transformed by Gravity into exciting new concepts. Brand new activities such as Aerial Adventures Sky Coaster, Leap of Faith and Freefall Tower Jump are proving very successful with visitors. This attraction sees visitors soar above units around the mall at over 70ft in the air on the Sky Coaster, experience the thrill of freefalling, and challenge themselves to jump further and further in the Leap of Faith.
Led by founders Harvey Jenkinson and Michael Harrison, this latest investment will be used to add enhanced leisure attractions to Gravity’s current sites, improving the experience and providing new experiences for customers. It will also go towards building the company's worldwide franchise and partnership programme, which has already seen work begin on a ten-park franchise deal in Saudi Arabia, and has received interest from countries such as the UAE, India and Continental Europe.
With the take-over of Planet Bounce Corby in August, Gravity has acquired its first operational site, and has recently opened its latest Gravity park at Xscape Milton Keynes. Operating in high footfall retail and leisure destinations the company attracted over 600,000 bouncers in 2017, and is on target for over 1,000,000 this year, with an expected turnover of £12 million.
Harvey Jenkinson, co-founder and CEO, commented: “We started as a trampoline park and have become a fully diversified leisure business with many attractions on offer. What has stayed at the heart of our company is a focus on quality customer service and high standards of health and safety – we are excited to see what the future brings!”
Michael Harrison, co-founder and CCO, added: “In just four years we have become the UK’s fastest growing leisure Company. Where others have faced challenges and closures, we have prospered. We have ambitious plans for the business and are pleased that Guinness Asset Management has remained as our investment partner”.
Gravity has sites in Yorkshire, Maidstone, Norwich, Hull, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Kent, Corby and Milton Keynes.
