There's a noticeable shift from Google that with their huge market share, they've changed their goals. Shifting over to commercialised searches with Paid vs Organic results. Google is trying to increase their revenue! Also to note is the change to mobile-first indexing.

Google is considering your brand and it impacts your listing. If you have a poor online reputation with negative customer reviews, it's safe to assume that Google is starting to demote your pages.
