The new £2m facility is located at the Belmont Industrial Estate in Durham.
Neil Tweddle, MD at Godfrey Syrett, said: “The premises and site have been extensively modified to create a first class furniture distribution centre that will allow us to tailor our deliveries and installations seamlessly to meet our customer’s requirements.”
“The re-developed facility, which is very close to the A1M, is double the size of our former distribution site in Spennymoor, enabling us to improve services levels and increase operational efficiencies.”
The business invested £500,000 in the refurbishment of the facility, working alongside Newcastle’s Silverstone Building Consultancy, who project managed the development.
Mark Coulter, associate director at Silverstone added: “We worked closely with Godfrey Syrett to develop creative solutions tailored to their business needs.
“ An essential part of the redevelopment project was to create recessed loading docks to accommodate their delivery fleet and demolish internal walls to maximise the floor space to cater for their distribution operations.”
The company had additional help from Industrial agents, HTA Real Estate who acquired the 105,000sqft unit on their behalf.
