Clark Homes, which is constructing a housing scheme comprising of 14 properties, is creating opportunities for local people, already involving 12 employees of local businesses as operatives on the project, including an apprentice from S. Telfer Fencing.
The firm have further plans to work alongside Northumberland College to offer placement
opportunities at the Wooler site to construction students.
Alongside working opportunities, the scheme has also offered training opportunities for operatives, including health and safety training and the construction skills certification scheme.
Ian Cuthbertson Contracts Manager at Clark Homes said: “We’re keen that other local young people benefit from the work being undertaken on the development and we will shortly be welcoming students from Northumberland College to undertake work placements on the site.”
