The world’s largest free accelerator for start-up and scale-up businesses has opened its doors to North East SMEs.

The Entrepreneurial Spark programme is coming to Newcastle in August and is looking for 80 small businesses to join it at 1 Trinity Gardens.

Anyone with an idea or a business can apply for a place in Entrepreneurial Spark’s hatchery – which is a free six-month business support programme.

According to its latest impact report, it has supported a total of 660 businesses across the UK so far, supporting a total of 1,816 jobs.

During the programme, start-ups and scale-up entrepreneurs have access to:

  • Free office space
  • Mentoring
  • A community of 700 entrepreneurs UK wide
  • Training and workshops
  • Regular networking events
  • A chance to win part of £1m in cash prizes - no strings attached
  • Opportunity to receive support for up to 18 months
    • The programme was officially launched at an event at Newcastle’s Live Theatre last night (14 March) with speakers from NatWest, RBS and Entrepreneurial Spark.

As well as pre-start and start-up businesses, the programme is also seeking business mentors to support its network of SMEs.
