Aysha Pervez is heading up the family-run business venture, Branches, which has received £400,000 joint investment.
Former Lane7 head chef Chris Finnigan has joined the team and will bring his talent to the kitchen.
He said: “Aysha and the team have left no stone unturned in creating a stunning restaurant.
“Now it’s my job to create a menu that will keep people coming back time and again.”
The 48-cover restaurant will be open seven days a week from 9am until late for breakfast, lunches, evening meals and modern tapas-style snacks and drinks.
All day favourites such as fish & chips, duck hash and macaroni cheese will compete with luxury dishes like scallops with black pudding bhaji and confit lobster with parmesan flatbreads.
Aysha added: “Fans of Chris Finnigan’s style will know that even the most ordinary-looking dishes on the menu come with flair and delicious surprises.
“His food puts a smile on people’s faces and that’s what we think will have customers coming back time and again. We’re thrilled to have him on board.”
Branches will open in Ponteland on 1 April.
