He has been at tech website The Next Web (TNW) for almost seven years and has served as UK editor, European editor and editor in chief before taking on the role of ‘editor at large’ last year.
Now Martin has announced in a blog post that he is heading to Tech North to be the site’s first community editor.
In a blog post published on 7 April he wrote: “We need to shout about the North of England’s technology sector a lot more.
“I’ll be digging out the many success stories that the world needs to know about, highlighting issues that need addressing and making sure that no-one can ever say again that the North has nothing worth knowing about.”
Interim Head of Tech North, Herb Kim, wrote in a separate blog post: “Martin joins as Tech North’s first community editor.
“He’ll be immersing himself in the tech communities across the North helping provide a voice for the people, companies, organisations and ideas that are pioneering the new digital economy of the North.”
