North East businesses catch the eye

Ten North East firms are performing with national distinction, according to recent league tables analysing the UK's most innovative businesses.

Kromek the Sedgefield radiation detection specialist has been named the most innovative firm in the country for intellectual property in an IP Top 100 table sponsored by Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks, Murgitroyd and Jumpstart in association with Metis Partners and BE Group.

Nine other firms have been listed by the London Stock Exchange as being among 1,000 companies to inspire Britain.

They are: engineers ADM Pressings and Atkinson Northern, food specialist Kavli UK, furniture retailer Barker and Stonehouse, Power Wholesale, recruitment firm Gem Partnership, Automotive Group (Newcastle) Ltd and Litter Boss and Premier Ina Holdings.
