Utilities startup to create 10 new jobs

A new start-up utilities consultancy is set to create up to ten new jobs after becoming the latest business to move in to The Hub in Washington.

Zynergy Utilities specialises in helping businesses to save money on their gas, electricity and water by removing the middle man and finding the best deal available for their clients, as well as focusing on helping companies reduce their carbon footprint.

In its first 6 months the company has seen rapid demand for its services, which work with clients such as hotels, bars and restaurants, schools and community centres.

The firm currently has a team of three office-based staff and seven field engineers, headed up by director Mike Dodds, but expects to expand the team and provide apprenticeships in coming months.

Mr Dodds said: “Although still in its infancy, the company has already got off to a great start and we are looking forward to growing the business here at The Hub.

“We guarantee to beat any renewal quote and if we can’t - we will tell our clients who will, that is our promise which is why businesses have the confidence in dealing with us.

“We don’t even charge customers for our service as we generate fees from commission from the suppliers so there is nothing to lose.”

Jillian Coleman, centre manager at The Hub, added: “It’s great to see new start-ups such as Zynergy Utilities choose to locate their business here at The Hub.

“We have fantastic facilities on site and offer the flexibility for businesses to grow and expand without having to outgrow their existing premises and then look to move on.

“Although the centre only opened its doors in July last year, there is already a real buzz about the place with a mix of different companies of all sizes operating across a range of different sectors.”
