£90m Coastal Communities Fund opens for applications

Businesses and communities in Redcar and Cleveland are being encouraged to bid for a share of £90m government funding to drive economic growth and regeneration to their areas.

Applications are now open for Round 4 of the Coastal Community Fund (CCF) with grants available for over £50,000 to public, private and voluntary sector organisations, and the deadline for applications is 30 June.

The multi-million pound fund has previously supported a number of landscape and tourism developments in the coastal areas, as well as providing funding for the Kirkleatham Catering Academy.

Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council is working in partnership with the Redcar-Coatham and East Cleveland Coastal Community Teams (CCT) as they drive economic plans to help bring sustainable jobs, tourism and economic development to the coastal areas.

Councillor Dale Quigley, cabinet member for economic growth at Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council said: “Through the fund, the Coastal Communities Teams are aiming to boost the growth of our local economy and make improvements to the area.

“The council is delighted to be working with the teams to encourage local participation and to support the development of projects, which will make our borough a great place to live, visit and work.”

Paul Kitchener, chair of the Redcar-Coatham Coastal Communities Team said: “The Redcar and Coatham CCT have a wealth of knowledge and are looking forward to receiving your project plans.

“We have a real strong opportunity to help and support projects that bring economic diversification and sustainable job creation to the area.”
