Manufacturing & Engineering North East returns for 2016

Manufacturing & Engineering North East is to return to Metro Radio Arena for a second year on 6 and 7 July.

Launched in 2015, the show was attended by over 1,300 delegates and is hoping to build on this for 2016.

Manufacturing & Engineering North East not only champions the UK engineering and manufacturing sector, but also provides a platform from which to build on the region's successful industrial heritage.

Ed Tranter, managing director of MA Exhibitions, said: “We are delighted to be back at Metro Radio Arena for the second year of Manufacturing & Engineering North East.

“Last year’s show was a fantastic showcase of the incredible manufacturing and engineering diversity and opportunity within the region.

“This year will see keynotes from the Northern Powerhouse Minister and regional industry leaders Nissan and Hitachi. The future is bright for the North East and we look forward to working with the venue and the region for many years to come.”

Manufacturing & Engineering North East received four accolades for its inaugural show, including a PPA Connect Award for launch of the year and the prestigious Exhibition News Award in the Rising Star category.

Nichola McKenna, marketing and commercial manager for the Metro Radio Arena said: “We have already hosted a number of high profile events such as BT AGM, UNICEF Conference and of course the award winning Manufacturing & Engineering North East. We work very closely with NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau and look forward to attracting more conference and exhibition events to the North East.”

Metro Radio Arena is the biggest conference and exhibition venue in the North East of England. The venue can host conferences and special meetings from 250 up to 10,000 within the flexible auditorium space.

Paul Szomoru, head of business tourism at NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau, said: “We’re delighted to have Manufacturing & Engineering North East return to NewcastleGateshead to celebrate the region’s expertise in this sector.”
