Esh Group awarded BIM accreditation

Esh Group awarded BIM accreditation

Esh Construction, part of the Esh Group, has become one of the first North East companies to be awarded a prestigious ‘BIM’ construction industry accreditation.

The BIM level 2 certification involves digitally managing information on building projects to speed up and optimise processes.

Digital files are created and shared between companies involved, from architects and consultants to build, fit-out, operations and management.

BIM aims to achieve a 20% reduction in carbon levels across the construction industry.

Where appropriate, Esh will use BIM across all of its divisions to save time and money while mitigating risk.

Paul Errington, design and bid Manager at Esh construction, said: “BIM accreditation is an assurance of quality, recognised by those procuring work.

“We have already used it on some of our projects, for example the Thirteen Group Headquarters and Fusion Hive for Teesside University in Middlesbrough; and Ashington High School, for Northumberland County Council and Howard Street, Newcastle, for Home Group.

“BIM Level 2 is mandatory for companies bidding for government work worth more than £2m, and this certification undoubtedly opens up further opportunities for Esh Construction.”
