The restaurant first opened its doors in November 2013 and is already ranked in the top 20 out of 927 Newcastle restaurants on Trip Advisor.
The Herb Garden's vision for the new venture at Royal Quays is to run a relaxed cafe style by day and an intimate restaurant in the evening which will be heavily inspired by its marina environment.
Current plans include a large outdoor seating area so that diners can enjoy al fresco dining whilst overlooking the marina basin and the River Tyne.
Richard Marks, a co-founder of The Herb Garden, said: “We're thrilled to be expanding The Herb Garden out to a nautical setting while continuing to run our existing restaurant in Newcastle. We hope we can put our mark on what is already a beautiful and unique environment.”
Royal Quays Marina manager, Matt Simms, added: “We are absolutely delighted that The Herb Garden will be coming to Royal Quays Marina and I'm sure that the new restaurant will be a big hit with marina berth holders and locals alike.”
The new restaurant is expected to open in the late autumn and The Herb Garden are planning to run a 'pop up' restaurant at some marina events during the summer.
