North East accountancy firm Tait Walker has kicked off the summer months by announcing three new appointments at its Gosforth office.

Lisa Nielsen has joined as a business services executive, the Corporate Tax team has welcomed Sanjay Pugal as a tax assistant manager, and the Corporate Finance team sees Laurence Provost join as an executive.

North East furniture designer and manufacturer, Godfrey Syrett, has appointed a new tender manager and bid co-ordinator following an increase in demand for tenders from both public and private sectors. 

Diane Pringle has been appointed as tender manager and will be responsible for managing tenders across all sectors.

Newcastle law firm Hay & Kilner has announced the promotion of Richard Marshall to associate solicitor in its leading Private Capital department.

A solicitor dedicated to helping people get their personal affairs in order has extended the long arm of the law to police officers in his new role with regional practice BHP Law.

James McMillan was keen to specialise in wills, trusts and probate, advising clients on setting up lasting powers of attorney (LPAs) and planning for what happens to their assets when they die.

Engineering consultancy Sweco UK has appointed a new operations director to its Newcastle office to launch its building services division in the city and the wider Northern region.

Grahame Kelly joined the company in June this year and will develop a building services team in Newcastle to add to the existing services offered from the office.

Phusion, the global information management specialist based in the Tees Valley, has appointed Alan Hanratty, an experienced international sales professional, as Business Development Director.

Alan, who previously headed up business development at Billingham-based Johnson Matthey subsidiary Tracerco, has worked in industry since 1981, including 13 years in senior sales positions.

Icon Plastics has appointed Martin Palmer as its new operations manager, following a number of contract wins.

Martin joins the Eaglescliffe-based precision injection company from the now defunct TTAP Group, which he joined aged just 18, working his way up from operator to operations manager over a 15-year period.

Premier Tech Aqua has announced the appointment of two Regional Sales Managers and an Engineering Sales Manager to support the drive of the company’s continuous growth.

Huw Morgan will be stepping into the position covering the regions of South Wales and South West, while Rob Gabriel will also be joining the as Regional Sales Manager of East Anglia and South East England.

Holiday Inn Newcastle-Jesmond has welcomed two new faces who will be partnering up to promote and manage the hotel and its new offerings over the coming months, whilst forging strong links with local businesses. 

Conference & events sales manager Ashley Small and sales manager Madeleine Griffith have joined the 85-strong team at the popular hotel.

North East based metrology software products ltd (MSP) who develop innovative production software solutions to leading manufacturers across the world, have today announced the appointment of two company Directors.

Margaret Toberty who joined MSP in 2010 as Business Development Manager and has sat on the board of senior management for the past year, will take on her new role as Director of Operations developing sales and operations serving MSP customers globally.

Denise Brown who was a driving force in the formation of the company in 2002 and instrumental in the financial success of the business, will take up the post of Director of Finance.

A North East law firm is welcoming a trio of solicitors to its team as part of its continued growth plans.

Clarke Mairs LLP, based in Newcastle city centre, has appointed consultant David Wilson, litigation solicitor Aimee Hubbard and trainee solicitor Joanne Rea to the firm.

Leading full service law firm, Hay & Kilner, has appointed Jonathan Waters as its Managing Partner in a rebranding of the firm’s Senior Partner role. He takes over from Martin Soloman who has stepped down after 15 years at the helm.

Stagecoach North East in South Shields has welcomed a new operations manager to oversee the everyday running of the depot, following the retirement of long serving manager Brian Sleightholme.

Janine Fowley, 36 originally from Preston, joins the South Shields depot following three years as operations manager at the depot in Hartlepool, where she successfully ran the operations for bus services across the Teesside region.

Nick Laird has been appointed as Regional Managing Director for Mid Markets in the North of England and Scotland, succeeding Alasdair Gardner who has been appointed Head of Global Corporates North America. He will take over from Gardner in September and will report into Tim Hinton, Managing Director, Mid Markets and SME Banking.

Quantum Pharma Group has announced that it has hired Lisa Brigham as its corporate communications manager, a newly-created role based at its head office in Burnopfield, County Durham.

Lisa’s experience in communications spans more than a decade and includes a number of senior roles including corporate communications manager at Greggs Plc and also as a senior PR manager at leading PR agencies including Gardiner Richardson and M&C Saatchi Group.

A North East integrated communications agency has made three appointments across its core services to further strengthen its offering.

Sunderland-based Narrative Integrated Communications, welcomes Stuart Singleton as financial director, Ross Palmer as creative director and Katie Harding as PR digital account executive during what is described as a time of "expansion and investment".

Architecture graduates of the Northumbria alumni, Kayleigh Scott and Rebecca Eltringham, have been appointed as the newest members of the company’s Gosforth-based team and will assist on projects across the region.

An assistant operations manager from South Shields has taken a step up the career ladder after being appointed as the new operations manager for the Hartlepool operations.

Jason Astley, 47, originally from the West Midlands, will now oversee the everyday running of the depot, as former manager Janine Fowley joins the South Shields team as its new operations manager.

Scottish Building Society has strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of Aileen Brown as Finance Director, a newly created role. Aileen joins Chief Executive Mark Thomson as the second executive director on the board.

The firm’s payroll team has been expanded in recent months, with the addition of Irene Walker and Maria Marcus.
