Located next to Bassenthwaite Lake, the renovated 1850s model farm has been transformed into a modern day distillery which produces its own The Lakes Vodka, The Lakes One- a whisky and The Lakes Gin.
The distillery’s gin was one of the final ten to come away with an accolade after being judged by food writer and Guardian columnist Tim Hayward.
Launched for the first time three years ago, The Great British Food Awards aims to celebrate the best artisan, British produce, and reflect developments within the industry.
The news comes hot on the heels of two silver awards from the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) for The Lakes Gin and The Lakes Gin Explorer Edition enabling The Lakes Distillery to bask in further award success.
