The Federation of Asian Businesses (FAB) is working with the North East Growth Hub and wider partners of the Northern Powerhouse to arrange a trade mission to India.
The trade mission is aimed at businesses who want to explore new markets, accelerate business growth in India, or export to the country for the first time.
India is the second largest country in the world by population, and its new government is running initiatives like 'Make in India', 'Digital India', 'Skill India' and 'Smart Cities' to create a number of business growth opportunities.
Recording an annual average growth rate of 7.5% from 2004 to 2013, India’s economy is now growing faster than China’s. The country’s economy is set to exceed the size of the UK economy in the next few years and is forecast to be the 7th largest economy in the world by 2019.
The trade mission will take place between Tuesday 21 November 2017 and Thursday 30 November 2017 and will include networking opportunities, B2B meetings, and meetings with Indian Ministers and policy makers.
With a focus on digital technology, bioscience, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, the FAB will work with businesses to set up relevant opportunities for them.
The mission will last for a total of nine days, visiting Delhi and Bangalore. Businesses are invited to attend for the full duration or for a small part. FAB will work with businesses in advance of the mission to provide detailed market intelligence. Businesses who decide to progress and set up in India, can receive a full support service.
