Windermere Lake Cruises is one of Lake District tourism business that will be jetting off to China and Hong Kong next month, as part of a trade mission to strengthen the region’s links with Asian markets.
The aim of the eleven-day visit is to speak directly to airlines, tour operators, press and other high-level influencers to help make the Lake District, Cumbria, the visitor destination of choice for Chinese travellers heading to Europe in 2018.
To help make the most of China’s emergence as a key visitor market in recent years, Windermere Lake Cruises and English Lakes Hotels will represent the Lake District China Forum for an initial three days of intensive office visits in Beijing and two days of high-level meetings in Hong Kong.
At the same time, The World of Beatrix Potter and Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are visiting Taiwan for similar sessions.
All four attractions will then join together with four other Cumbrian businesses for VisitBritain’s three-day ‘Destination China’ event in the city of Guangzho to help promote British destinations, products and suppliers to around 100 overseas buyers.
