Specialist supplier to the bar and catering industry, Crosbys, has appointed Mark Gubbins as its new Managing Director.
A chartered accountant who has worked in a variety of sectors, Mark has significant experience in the leisure industry. He was financial director of North East pub, club and hotel operator Apartment Group for eight years, and also held the role of financial director at Gainford Group.
Mark has big plans for the future of Crosbys, and says he has already seen some short-term gains since he made changes to business processes.
In his new role, Mark has already implemented some new systems which he believes will boost ambitious growth plans over the next few years.
He said: I’ve inherited a very passionate and loyal team, mainly due to the business still having a ‘family’ feel, but there is a need to refresh the structure of the company.
“One of the key challenges is to change the perception of the business – a lot of people still only see Crosbys as supplying plates and glasses and aren’t aware of our projects division, providing chemical and cutting-edge waste solutions.
“By improving awareness here we will see organic growth, but we are also looking at acquisitional growth for the future.”
Family firm Crosbys was established in 1990 and offers manufacturing expertise, customer commitment and support for hospitality businesses ranging from cafes to national restaurant chains.
