Apprenticeship Awards 2018
The college has been putting the finishing touches in place for the first ever Annual Apprenticeship Awards ceremony taking place this week.
The nominations are in, shortlist selections have been made, and Newcastle College’s First Annual Apprenticeship Awards are soon to be underway.
This week, Newcastle College has been putting the finishing touches in place for a glittering awards ceremony at The Copthorne Hotel on Thursday 8 March.
The awards, which take place during National Apprenticeship Week, recognise extraordinary commitment and achievements from our students, colleagues and employer partners.
Director of business partnerships at Newcastle College, Marc McPake, said: “In my role I have the pleasure of hearing how well our apprentices are progressing on their programmes and have seen incredible examples of the unwavering dedication from our colleagues and employer partners.
“We are so pleased to be able to recognise that hard work with these awards. The independent panel of judges have had the hard task of deciding the shortlist and winners. They are extremely impressed with the quality and calibre of each apprentice nominated.”
Awards up for grabs on the night include Personal Achievement, Apprenticeship Champion, Intermediate Apprentice of the Year, Advanced Apprentice of the Year, Higher and Degree Apprentice of the Year, Special Recognition and Outstanding Apprentice of the Year.
Newcastle College hospitality students will also join the expert team at The Copthorne to cater the event, gaining practical work experience as well as the opportunity to get involved in fundraising for the College’s Charity Partner, Team Tyne Innovation.
Being able to offer students hands-on practical experience is at the heart Newcastle College’s mission, and the Apprenticeship Awards are a fantastic opportunity to showcase how apprenticeships can work as a positive career choice and offer businesses with a strategic investment to grow and upskill their teams.
