David Grant has been named as the new managing director of Durham Tees Valley Airport.
David Grant, who has 30 years commercial experience, will assume responsibility for the commercial and operational performance of the airport.
Grant joined the airport three years ago, firstly as business development director and then as commercial director.
He had previously held a number of senior management roles in the airports industry, including as a director at Glasgow Prestwick Airport and managing a specialist aviation business.
Airport chairman Robert Hough said: “The strengthening of our management team through David’s appointment underlines our commitment to Durham Tees Valley and the ‘Flying for the Future’ campaign which we launched in November.
“He has an impressive record in the industry and since joining us has played a key role in the progress we have made in securing the future of Durham Tees Valley Airport.”
Grant added: “Being based in the region, I understand how important the Airport is to the area and one of my key aims will be to work with all partners, including our local authorities, the Tees Valley Combined Authority and the business community in driving forward the objectives of the airport master plan and the potential for both growing aviation operations and exploiting the opportunities for generating income streams across the whole airport site.”
