The fast-growing Newcastle-based company has secured its first ever contract in the North West as it continues to expand its reach outside of the North East.
Vocare, a specialist provider of urgent care services, has landed a four year contract worth £5m to work alongside Virgin Care in the North West of England.
Under the contract, which comes into effect on 1 May and has an option of a two year extension, Vocare will provide GP Out-of-Hours services to NHS West Lancashire CCG through 18 GP practices in the region, covering a population of around 112,000 people.
Wendy Lawrence, CEO of Vocare’s parent company Totally plc, said: "We are delighted to announce Vocare's first contract in the North West of England and are thrilled to be working with Virgin Care, a well-recognised and respected brand.
“This contract is a key step in our drive to establish the company in this region and we believe it clearly demonstrates our ambition and ability to continue to expand our footprint across the UK.
"As a healthcare provider, our priority remains the provision of high quality patient care whilst also ensuring we create value for our shareholders by securing important strategic contracts such as this one."
