Durham-based J.E.M. Road Construction Limited has announced expansion plans with the purchase of new premises, after receiving funding from Barclays.
Established in 2006, J.E.M. Road Construction specialises in road surfacing, driveway, farm tracks, pathways, car parks, groundworks, haulage and supply of aggregates for both commercial and private customers. The new funding from Barclays will enable the business to purchase its second commercial site in Burnopfield, Stanley.
Wayne Murray, managing director for J.E.M Road Construction Limited said: “We’re delighted to be expanding the business again with the purchase of further new premises which we will develop to rent out to local businesses who need affordable space not readily available on Derwentside. We’re a family run business and this is a significant step which will secure the future of the business and take us to the next stage in our growth. The funding from Barclays has not only allowed us to purchase the new premises but it will also help our growth plans providing more capacity for new contracts and customers.”
Michael Watson, Barclays business manager put together the funding package for the deal, and said: “It’s always very rewarding helping a business to expand and I’m delighted that Wayne and his team are in such a strong position to grow their business. Purchasing their second site is a big step for any business and the new site will not only provide the capacity for expansion but also support other start-ups and businesses in the region. Wayne is a long standing customers of Barclays and it’s a testament to his hard work that we were able to support him with the funding to take the business to the next exciting chapter.”
