A Digital Drive County Durham event
More than 200 County Durham companies are already on course to make the most of digital technology after receiving fully funded support from Digital Drive County Durham.
The eligible businesses are benefitting from at least 12 hours of business support across a range of channels to help them become more resilient, efficient and profitable by using digital technology to gain a competitive edge and maximise growth.
Digital Drive County Durham, which launched in January this year, is a programme being delivered on behalf of Business Durham, the economic development organisation for Durham County Council, to help small businesses make the most of digital technology.
A programme of free workshops will take place over the next few months to help businesses with topics like digital content creation, getting more enquiries from your website, google analytics and social media.
Businesses across the county are being urged to discover which skills they feel would most benefit their company and sign up for the free programme.
Sarah Slaven, business development director, Business Durham, said: “Digital Drive County Durham is a programme to help businesses in the County make the most of digital technology in order to succeed and grow.
“It is extremely encouraging to see that more than 200 companies have already benefited from the support. I encourage anyone running a business in County Durham to take a look at the range of workshops, advice and assistance available to see how they can benefit.”
Nathalie Paris from Nattalingo, a Consett-based business providing a French mobile library service, has already taken advantage of the support on offer: “After hearing about the Digital Drive project, I decided to register on the website and took the time to fill in my health check. I was blown away by the report which came through: you could tell the person writing it had read all about your business, been on your website, your social channels etc. It was so personal!
A little later, I got the opportunity to spend 2 hours face-to-face with the lovely Helen who, once more, had really come to our meeting having learnt a lot about my business. She had suggestions for me and was very patient with me sharing my digital ideas and plans with her.
“I have benefited so much already but I am also looking forward to what will come next. If you are based in County Durham, do register, it is an opportunity not to be missed!”
Digital Drive County Durham is being funded by the European Regional Development Fund, Business Durham, which works on behalf of Durham County Council and private investment and forms part of the wider Digital Durham initiative to transform broadband speeds for residents and businesses across the North East.
