Gradvert has teamed up with fellow North East company Madventurer to create a new overseas leadership development service.
Madventurer offers community volunteer placements in destinations such as Ghana, Kenya, Peru, Thailand, Fiji, and Tanzania. It also offers corporate clients the opportunity to partake in overseas corporate social responsibility projects.
Gradvert’s role in the new partnership is to build an overseas element into their leadership programme so skills developed in the UK can be transferred to communities abroad.
This collaboration sees delegates using the skills they learn during Gradvert’s leadership training, for example coaching and mentoring, during Madventurer overseas community development placements.
Gradvert will also work with companies pre-trip, during and after to robustly measure the impact of the projects on the individuals, the teams and the organisation, as well as measuring return on investment.
The first collaborative effort recently saw representatives from the companies spend two weeks in Kenya working with Siemens employees from across the world.
Newcastle-based Gradvert provides bespoke business skill and management development programmes across all levels to help organisations attract, recruit and retain top talent.
Michaela Reaney, managing director at Gradvert, said: “This is a completely unique collaboration offering something that hasn’t been done before.
“Not only will the people involved do a really good community-based project while they’re overseas, but they’ll also do a lot of coaching and mentoring and transfer the skills they’ve build up during their leadership programme to the community there.
“It’s a great opportunity for us to build on the idea of being socially responsible while also doing something with tangible positive results.”
John Lawler, Madventurer chief, said: “We’re bringing together two companies, both experts in their own fields, into one great service that we can offer, with a special emphasis on team-building, corporate social responsibility, and leadership development.
“Our corporate projects do a lot of good work and teaming up with Gradvert will help us to achieve that.
“The partnership works beautifully as both companies have the skills and experience needed to bring it together.”
