Jan Reiss, Strategic Business Development Director and Dave Watson, MD at IGNIFI
IGNIFI selected to join a trade mission to Germany, representing the North East creative industry at the world’s largest meeting of medical sector professionals.
As part of the government’s Northern Powerhouse initiative, designed to boost recognition of the North East’s fertile investment opportunities, healthcare specialist IGNIFI will network at Medica alongside more than 120,000 prospective health sector partners from academia, business and politics.
The trade mission looks to highlight the significant potential of the North East for inward investment, as the North’s life sciences economy continues to outpace the UK average. With significant growth in value last year and over 750 new companies starting up from Sheffield to the Scottish border, life sciences is, as IGNIFI Managing Director Dave Watson puts it: “the poster child for UK growth”.
“As some of our clients rank in the top 20 pharmaceutical companies globally, we’re already trading successfully in Europe and beyond”, comments Watson, “but no UK business is immune from Brexit jitters.
“This trade mission is a precious opportunity for us to reinforce our European roots and demonstrate the standard of creative work and marketing strategy coming out of the North East of England.”
Medica takes place in Duesseldorf, Germany, from 12 to 15 November.
Nominations are now open for the PD Ports Northern Powerhouse Export Awards in association with HSBC and the Department for International Trade.
The international trade campaign seeks to recognise the most entrepreneurial exporters from across the North of England.
