When The Stottie Company opened their flagship store in Stockton’s Castlegate Shopping Centre, managing director Sharon Olivero-Chapman wanted to be sure that they were working to the highest food hygiene standards.
Although they carried the maximum five-star rating at their first shop, the new larger premises required the team to step it up a level with regards to kitchen management and food hygiene.
But the advice Sharon was given by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Environmental Health team proved invaluable.
Sharon said: “I cannot thank officers enough my business has gained so much from their knowledge. Our new kitchen is more efficient, food waste is far less, and we now have a five-star rating.
“The officer’s passion for the job shone through; without their input, we would not be able to work to the same standards. I’d urge any other food businesses to do the same – listen to the professionals because they are here to help.”
