The restaurant at the city’s new Hilton Garden Inn doubled its average weekly visitor numbers, with customers from across the region making the most of Eat Drink Sunderland Restaurant Week.
Following the success of the initiative, the Karbon Grill is now launching its very own Karbon Cuisine Week to run in both October and November.
The special menu will offer a number of American-style dishes including Buffalo chicken wings and New-York style meatballs alongside its signature Karbon Burger and desserts such as mini Nutella filled doughnuts and warm rich chocolate brownie.
Karbon Cuisine Week will run from Monday 24 October until Friday 28 October and Monday 31 October until Friday 4 November.
Kim Kelso, general manager of the Hilton Garden Inn Sunderland, said the hotel and restaurant were delighted by the success of Sunderland Restaurant Week and look forward to welcoming visitors for its own food week.
“Sunderland Restaurant Week was a huge success, with the hotel and restaurant experiencing its busiest period to date since opening,” she said.
“It has shown that there is a definite interest in the city for these type of events so we are delighted to launch our very own Karbon Cuisine Week.
“The menu includes some favourites from restaurant week with the addition of a few new dishes for visitors to enjoy and provides a fantastic opportunity for newcomers to sample what we have to offer.”
