Rigg named Quantum chief

Chris Rigg has been made the permanent chief executive of leading pharmaceutical firm Quantum following his successful spell as acting CEO.

Rigg was appointed to the board as chief financial officer back in March before being named acting CEO on 1 August.

Following a formal search to find the right person to take the pharmaceutical giant forward, Quantum shareholders agreed to give the role to Rigg on a permanent basis.

Quantum has also announced the appointments to the board of Ian Johnson as non-executive chairman; Christopher Mills as non-executive director and Dr John Brown as senior independent non-executive director.

Speaking on his appointment, Rigg said:“I am delighted to be appointed as Quantum’s CEO and would like to thank the board and our major shareholders for their support.

“Whilst the group has faced some challenges in the recent past, the focused and simplified strategy now in place has the potential to drive shareholder value and I look forward to working with Ian, Christopher, John and Quantum’s senior management team to deliver this."
