Emery appointed Electricity North West chief

Peter Emery has been appointed as the new chief executive of Electricity North West, taking over from Steve Johnson.

Emery will be joining from Drax Group plc where he served for over a decade, most recently in the post of group operations director.

The executive has also worked with government and regulators to enable the delivery of ambitious national and international climate change goals.

John Roberts, chairman of Electricity North West, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Peter to Electricity North West.

“Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a clear focus on achieving the highest levels of customer service delivered through colleagues working in a safe operating environment.

“His appointment will enable the company to build on its successful record in these important areas.”

He added: “On behalf of the board, I would also like to thank Steve Johnson.

“Since its separation from United Utilities, Steve has successfully ensured that Electricity North West is recognised and valued by stakeholders and customers for the service it provides to the region and the board thanks him for his exceptional service.”

Emery will take up the post of chief executive on 17 May.
