David Beech, CEO of Knights, is honoured to have been shortlisted for the 2016 Lloyds Bank National Business Awards in The Entrepreneur of the Year category sponsored by Inflexion.
Knights was the first professional services business in the UK’s commercial legal sector to attract private equity investment and is now the UK’s fastest growing ‘full service’ law firm.
David has been recognised for his ‘visionary leadership’ and creating a ‘culture of innovation’. He is one of ten entrepreneurs and the only person from the professional services sector to make the finals in this competitive category.
David Beech said: “I am thrilled to have been shortlisted at the National Business Awards, especially in an entrepreneurial category with other forward-thinking and dynamic business leaders.
“Moving away from the traditional partnership model and operating like a ‘proper business,’ has enabled Knights to achieve our full potential by being truly entrepreneurial in everything we do. We pride ourselves on always thinking originally, creatively and commercially.
“We have never been interested in dividends. We have, instead, always reinvested heavily in the business and our people, as we have total clarity about who we are, what we stand for, and where we are going.”
Described as, ‘the Oscars of great British business,’ by David Cameron, former Prime Minister, the competition’s finalists were chosen from hundreds of businesses across 18 award categories. David will now present to an expert judging panel who will ultimately determine the overall winners. These results are due to be announced on Tuesday 15th November.
Tom Broughton, group brand director of the Lloyds Bank National Business Awards, said: “Due to the high number of entries for this year’s awards, narrowing the entries down to 140 finalists was a difficult task. But through a thorough and comprehensive judging process, the selected finalists demonstrate exceptional quality and diversity across a range of business sectors within the UK.”
