Lancashire developer becomes Property Doctor

An award-winning businessman who has ploughed over £1m into creating homes in Lancashire has been signed by a national newspaper to provide expert advice to property investors.

Phil Stewardson, of Stewardson Developments, was approached by the Daily Telegraph to become their ‘Property Doctor’ and appears in their pages every Saturday answering questions from readers.

Phil, 51, said: “I have worked in property investment and development for the last 21 years so have dealt with a vast array of property and letting issues. Even now with the issues around Brexit we are still buying and expanding our portfolio.

“But that said every day is still a learning curve. There’s so much that can happen in the world of property.

“It was very flattering to be asked and hopefully recognises the fact that the business is successful, still growing and has a good reputation. We pride ourselves on being able to take on any property, regardless of issue and resolve the problems.”

Phil runs Stewardson Developments, with his brother Mark, and splits his time between the West Midlands and Darwen, where local firm Ainsworth Lord Estates act as managing agents for the properties.

On top of their initial investments of over 40 residential and commercial properties in the BB postcode they are planning to invest a further £3m over the next three years creating jobs, providing homes and business space.

Anna White, head of property at the Daily Telegraph, said: “The Telegraph Money desk have long relied on Phil's expertise in the lettings market so he was an obvious choice.

“Phil has a vast knowledge which would be useful to our readers, many of whom invest in property. He’s proving an asset and a real hit with his audience.”
