‘Northshoring’ sees Temple invest in Manchester

Temple, one of the UK’s leading independent infrastructure and property consultancies, has launched a new office in Manchester as it looks to expand across the UK.

The London-based firm’s new office will be shared with its sister company The Ecology Consultancy as it jumps on the back of the growing ‘northshoring’ trend.

Leading the launch of the new office will be associate director, Peter Cole, who has been with Temple for four years and will now be based in Manchester permanently.

Managing director Chris Fry said: “As a fast growing UK owned consultancy we are really pleased to be able to grow a team in the city at such an important time.

“I guess you could say we are part of the growing trend of ‘northshoring’ – but more importantly I am sure that it will bring us opportunities to collaborate with different organisations and bring in talented individuals from across Greater Manchester.”

Post-Brexit the impetus around the ‘Northern Powerhouse’ has not diminished, with The Northern Powerhouse Partnership launched recently specifically to maintain momentum. Infrastructure is fundamental to the region’s success and Temple is keen to capitalise on this.

Peter added: “I’m really excited about both the transport infrastructure and property development scene in Greater Manchester and across the Northern Powerhouse at the moment.

“Manchester is a wonderful city and I look forward to bringing our specialist noise, air quality and ecology services, and Temple’s bespoke style of environmental planning, where we look to form a partnership with the client and act as a trusted advisor and representative on all environmental matters.”
