All of the 25 new recruits have graduated from the company’s Software Testing Academy, which was created in 2014.
The academy offers a mixture of classroom training and hands-on experience to ensure people leave with the necessary skills to work in the industry.
Candidates who complete the course and pass all modules are then guaranteed a job at NCC Group. The process takes between 12 and 24 months to complete and so far 25 people have landed full-time roles within the company.
Historically the academy was aimed at computer science graduates but the criteria has since been expanded, enabling those without such formal qualifications to earn while they learn so they can go on to build successful careers.
In the near future, NCC Group also plans to broaden its academy approach across the business in an effort to address the skills gap in the general IT sector.
David Bolton, director at NCC Group, said: “The aim of the academy is to give choices to those who do not want to go to university.
“The academy route provides an excellent career opportunity and with drive, ambition and an openness to learn, a lot can be achieved.
“It is great to see the energy that the resource has created within the division.
“To have 25 people graduate within the last 12 months is just the start and we will be expanding on this growth in the coming year.”
