Describe your business in no more than 100 words
Bee Industrious is a market research and insight specialist. We have two division of our business – the Agency side which assists businesses with bespoke research solutions – working with SME, national and international clients across multiple sectors. The second division – the Innovation side is where we develop our own products which we then take to market. The first of which is called “Kids Insights” – where we undertake comprehensive research (5,000 a quarter) on kids, tweens and teens between the age of 4-18 years of age and produce reports which companies can subscribe too.
What prompted you to enter the Innovation Showcase competition?
We were made aware of this fantastic initiative by the team at Business Growth Hub, and we thought it was an opportunity to showcase how innovation is a key value in our business – but also demonstrate how we are transforming the Kids sector. Later this year we are launching an online portal where industry professionals can log on and access historical and real-time data, in a format which will enable them to interrogate and analyse the data to their individual requirements.
How would you describe that to a novice?
We provide clients with a highly accessible dashboard enabling them to access copious amount of data from the past and present!
What are the biggest challenges you face?
Any new business faces similar challenges – managing resource, growth and of course cashlow!
What are your biggest professional achievements to date?
Every achievement in its own right is significant – from winning new clients, delivering projects and receiving fantastic feedback, launching new products, being recognised for our hardwork and even the quality of the team which we are assembling
How do you feel about presenting to potentially hundreds of people at Venturefest Manchester?
Excited! It is an incredible opportunity to showcase our business, communicate our achievements to date and meet potential partners who we can collaborate with in the future
What would winning the Innovation Showcase mean to your business?
It would be fantastic not just for the business for our core team and all of our partners and collaborators. It would make us all very proud and become a key milestone in our business history which would springboard us to the next stage…..
Where do you see your company in five years time?
Still with its headquarters proudly located in Manchester and the North West of England but with significant operations in the US, Africa and Asia – delivering world class projects to international, national and local clients.
What advice would you give to aspiring innovators?
Do your research, and if the results of the research look promising – don’t hang about! As if a business can turn well thought out ideas into commercially viable products and services quickly it has a major competitive advantage!
