North West businesses are being urged to seize business and investment opportunities in Kunming, China, by attending a major trade seminar being staged in Liverpool during the 2018 International Business Festival.
Officials from the picturesque Yunnan province of South West China will arrive in the city to discuss the wealth of opportunities in the sector at a seminar at the event being held at the Exhibition Centre Liverpool.
Kunming’s Central Government are planning to make Kunming the Big Health City of China, which has created opportunities for companies in medicine, pharmacy, elderly care and health tourism.
The seminar will begin with an introduction by Deputy Mayor Gary Millar before an introduction on Kunming by Ms Wang Jianying, Vice Mayor of Kunming.
Mr. He Wenming, Deputy Director of Kunming Municipal Commission of Public Health and Family Planning, will deliver the seminar on Big Health opportunities before a Q&A session.

Kunming is one of China’s most important tourist areas in South and Southwest Asia and in 2017 the UN listed the city as one of the most liveable in the world.
The seminar will provide an insight into the region and how businesses from the Liverpool City Region and beyond can seize the rich opportunities emerging in Kunming.
Two years ago, the delegation was led by the Vice Mayor of Kunming and a civic reception, featuring dancers who entertained civic dignitaries at Liverpool Town Hall.
A Friendship Partnership Agreement was signed by Vice Mayor Li and Liverpool Mayor Joe Anderson to bolster a positive and mutually beneficial relationship and strengthen existing ties.
The two leaders began dialogue in Chengdu in September 2015 which has allowed a thriving business network to flourish.
The sights and sounds of Kunming, known as the city of Eternal Spring and which is highly regarded for its rich culture and heritage, were colourfully brought to life by musicians and performers in Liverpool ONE during a two-day culture and business exhibition.
Vice Mayor Ms Wang from Kunming, said: “In 2016 we began a friendship which has led to developing trade and business networks between our two cities.
“Liverpool is a wonderful place. Like Kunming it is rich in culture, heritage and business.
“There are a wealth of opportunities here for UK businesses and over the last two years we have developed our city to welcome those businesses to Kunming to trade.
“We are very pleased to be returning to Liverpool and discovering new business opportunities from the city region and north west to bring to Kunming.”
The Kunming seminar will be held on The Terrace at the Exhibition Centre Liverpool on Wednesday 13 June from 9:30am to 11:30am.
