Family lawyer strengthens team
Award-winning family lawyer Merrick has appointed a new solicitor, Gabrielle Dugan, to its team.
Gabrielle said she was looking forward to using her skills to help people through their most vulnerable times. She has previously worked with Co-op Legal Services in Manchester following working as a paralegal and undertaking her training in London.
Pugh expands team with property auctioneer appointment
Property auction house Pugh has appointed Edward Feather as associate director and auctioneer.
Joining the firm from SDL Auctions in Chester, Feather has 12 years’ property auction experience. He was also a director at the Cheshire and North Wales franchise of the Auction House business, based at estate agent Humphreys in Chester, before its acquisition by SDL in 2016.
Atradius grows from strength to strength in the North West

A world leader in trade credit insurance with an established local presence in the north west, Atradius has created a new and larger team to enhance its offering in the region.
Thomas Murphy and Chelcee Witkowski have joined Atradius as business development managers alongside James Armitage and Lisa McMillan as account managers. They join senior business development manager Sally Nolan and account managers Sarah Seddon and Nicola Hinchliff. The team, which is based in Atradius’ Manchester Regional Hub is headed up by Regional Manager Mike Rowan who is already very well known in the region.

Chester legal practice Aaron & Partners LLP has announced six key promotions across its two offices – including three new Partners – as it continues to grow across Cheshire and Shropshire.
Chester-based Jamie Hawley, who specialises in advising owner-managed businesses and SMEs on a range of corporate matters, becomes a Partner in the acclaimed Corporate and Commercial team.

PM+M announces 2018 intake of apprentices
Blackburn, Bury and Burnley based PM+M – the chartered accountancy, business advisory and wealth management group – has welcomed its latest group of young apprentices who will be working in the firm’s Run My Business, Corporate Services, Tax, Wealth Management and Payroll teams.
The firm has appointed seven apprentices this year which is one more than in 2017. All seven will be completing a three-year training programme. The new apprentices are: Anya Fallon, James Cocker, Ellie Manley, Rebecca Nuttall, Rebecca Taj, Mohammed Aamir Patel and Zayn Khan.

Henry Howard Finance (HHF) has appointed its first senior account managers in the North West, as the independent funder continues its ambitious growth plan.
Angela Werner, from Wigan, and Kevin Edwards, from Salford, are joining the firm’s innovative vendor and retail division under Sarah Freeman, as the company celebrates exceptional half-year results.
Mrs Werner and Mr Edwards have worked together previously with both holding senior account management posts at Academy Leasing prior to joining the Newport-headquartered firm.

Steven will work in the agency’s office in Spinningfields, Manchester as well as its bases in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Dunfermline and Dundee.
New Head of Lending to lead GC Business Finance into fresh era of growth
Manchester based responsible finance provider GC Business Finance has appointed Chris Hutchison as Head of Lending to drive growth and awareness of its loan and investment products and services.
Chris joins GC Business Finance, which is part of The Growth Company, from RBS Group, bringing over 60 years’ experience in commercial banking, asset finance and SME support to his new role.
Chris will be responsible for delivering growth in the lending and management of the £160m GC Business Finance loan portfolio, across a mix of products including Start Up Loans, the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund, GC Angels and business growth loans.

James McDevitt has been appointed as general manager of the hotel, bringing with him 25 years’ experience in the hospitality industry. James has previously held leadership positions with InterContinental Hotels and Resorts in three countries before arriving in the UK to work with brands that include Guoman, DeVere Collection, Macdonald Hotels and Resorts and Hotel du Vin.
