AWH Appoint Viv Williams as chairman
Manchester based legal services firm, AWH solicitors have appointed Viv Williams as their non-executive chairman. Viv has been brought in to strengthen the management structure of the business as the firm looks to accelerate its growth strategy over the next 2 years.
Viv is a leading consultant to law firms specialising in strategy, structure and management and will add additional expertise to the board of AWH. Viv is currently the consulting director of Symphony Legal and joint owner of merger business, Ampersand.
Travel partnership company Amber Road announces the appointment of James Mortimer as group finance director
James joins Amber Road, to support a new phase of growth for the Manchester-headquartered business, having worked in various industries including Grant Thornton, BDO LLP and most recently Sweet Squared, but is no stranger to travel having started his career at British Airways. James has a strong track record of delivering highly profitable and sustainable growth through organic expansion, acquisition, business restructuring and the development of new products and brands.
Law firm strengthens compliance function with senior hire
Aaron & Partners LLP has appointed Gavin Ball a compliance and quality expert to bolster its in-house team following a period of significant growth. Gavin Ball has joined the firm after almost 15-years working in similar roles with professional services firms and accountancy businesses in the UK, including the likes of Deloitte, RSM and Rolls Royce.
British Business Bank appoints UK network senior manager for the North West
The British Business Bank has appointed Sue Barnard to a new position as senior manager, UK network for the north-west.
The British Business Bank – the government-owned economic development bank dedicated to making finance markets work better for smaller businesses – is establishing a UK Network, with team members based within each of the English regions and the three Devolved Nations.
Sue will represent the UK network across the north-west and will engage closely with business finance stakeholders in the region. She will be supporting Geoff Whiteland, the recently appointed UK network director, north of England and the midlands.
Global ambitions for new CEO of University commercialisation company
Andrew Wilkinson has been appointed chief executive of The University of Manchester’s intellectual property commercialisation company, UMI3, with an ambition to make it a global leader for turning academic ideas into enterprises with a social and economic impact. An alumnus of the University, Andrew is a successful CEO and managing director with extensive experience growing international technology companies. He spent many years leading complex, multi-national businesses, operating across a wide range of sectors.
Expansion of Worsley company sees nine new hires
LeasingOptions.co.uk has welcomed nine new members of staff to the business following a busy year of expansion.
The most senior of the new recruits is compliance manager Daniel Irwin, who has joined the company’s management team.

Professional qualification leads to a promotion and new appointment for H&H Insurance Brokers

Both are at different stages of their chosen career with HHIB and within the insurance profession. Amy, aged 23, who started as an Apprentice with H&H Insurance Brokers three years ago, has recently obtained her professional qualification. Aiva joined the team as a Trainee Account Handler during the summer.
