New role supporting up-and-coming legal professionals
Paralegal has been made social director of Manchester’s Junior Chamber International (JCI), a network for young go-getters.
Steph Peña, who works for the Manchester office of national law firm Clarke Willmott LLP, will be in charge of planning, preparing and promoting a series of JCI events over the coming year.
JCI is a global, not-for-profit organisation, for 18 to 40-year-olds with a mission to provide development opportunities to empower young people to create positive change.
Forbes Solicitors Expands Manchester Operation
Law firm Forbes Solicitors has expanded its Employment team into Manchester city centre.
The move coincides with Partner Emma Swan being appointed as Head of Commercial Employment and Partner Ruth Rule-Mullen being appointed as Head of Public Sector Employment, to oversee the Team’s continued growth within the commercial and public sectors.
Associate Solicitor Sal Chowdhury and Solicitor James Barron are now working full-time out of the firm’s offices at Church House, Deansgate, which was previously only a base for part of Forbes’ Insurance Team.
Amanda Grant joins Operations Board at Advanced
Leading British software and services provider, Advanced, has appointed Amanda Grant as Product Strategy Director, further strengthening the company’s leadership team to deliver disruptive and innovative solutions to UK’s businesses.
Amanda will report directly into Advanced’s Chief Executive Officer, Gordon Wilson, and work closely with Chief Technology Officer, Jon Wrennall. She will also sit on the Operations Board and be instrumental in developing and delivering an innovative product roadmap that embraces the opportunities the Cloud and emerging technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, offer to Advanced customers.
Slater Heelis appoints new practice director
Full-service law firm Slater Heelis has appointed Naeem Dean as its new practice director as it eyes future growth.
Naeem Dean is a qualified FCCA (Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) with more than 20 years’ experience of managing the finances and operations of legal practices. He will be based at the Sale office of the law firm.
New Lloyds Bank team will boost support to North West business
Large corporates across the North West are set to gain access to a greater range of specialist support, through the creation of a new Business Development team at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking.
Sara Sell and Christopher Yau have joined Lloyds Bank as business development directors, bringing with them 20 years’ experience working in the corporate finance sector.
Together with business development managers Suzanne Barker and Louise Kitching, they will provide support to companies with turnovers of more than £100 million, helping them to access the tailored support they need to achieve their ambitions.
Senior appointment at Fisher German
Cheshire property consultancy has made a senior appointment in Knutsford to head up its commercial team.
Rupert Collis has been appointed Head of Commercial North West Region at Fisher German, leading the commercial services at the firm’s Chester, Knutsford and Stafford offices.
He qualified as a chartered surveyor in 1996 with Gerald Eve LLP, in London, where he spent the first nine years of his career before moving to Cheshire in 2002.
Senior Promotions as George F. White Continue to Invest in their Team
George F. White, the land, property and business group, has appointed three new partners as the business continues to grow.
The internal promotions, which support growth, also signify changes to the firm’s internal structure and culture since Partner and Operations Director, Sally Hart, instructed a business review with a major focus on employee retention and benefits in 2017.
Stephanie Linnell and Craig Ross, Planning Consultants based at the firms Alnwick branch, and Carolyn Milburn, Rural Practice Surveyor at the firms Wolsingham branch, have been promoted to Partners.
